Partnered with Sanitakaras (Russian Nurses) to maintain the hygiene, health, safety and well being of twelve Russian children with disabilities.


• Empathized with the children and vowed to treat them as children (and not as institutional beings) by singing, reading and encouraging them to laugh.

• Encouraged a welcoming and loving environment for the children.

• Allotted one hour a day, four days a week, for 1:1 development and life skills training.

• Maintained a strict schedule.

• Followed an extensive amount of rules.

• Overcame the language barrier by learning a basic Russian work vocabulary and pairing it with gestures and body language when communicating with staff.

• Offered criticism and recommendations when ask "how to improve the Russian Organization Perspektivy."

 

Assisted in teaching both graduate and undergraduate students Human Factors, Design Methods and an Industrial Design Studio under the direction of Richard Branham. Assisted a blind graduate student with her thesis research and project development.
